The Tien Shan Astronomical Observatory is an astronomical observatory located in the Tien Shan Mountains at 2,800 meters altitude, 30 kilometers south of the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan. It was assigned to the Sternberg Astronomical Institute until the collapse of the Soviet Union.
