Culebra, officially Isla de Culebra, is a small archipelago and island organized as a municipality of Puerto Rico. Comprising the eponymous main island, the smaller island of Culebrita, and various cays, including Norte and Luis Peña, it is located about 17 miles northeast of the main island of Puerto Rico, 12 miles west of Saint Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 9 miles northeast of Vieques, with which it composes the Spanish Virgin Islands.
