Long Island Central Pine Barrens

The Long Island Central Pine Barrens, also known as the Long Island Pine Barrens, is an approximately 106,000-acre region in central and eastern Suffolk County, New York, encompassing portions of the towns of Brookhaven, Riverhead and Southampton. Established under the Long Island Pine Barrens Protection Act of 1993, the region contains protected public and private lands as well as communities and other developed areas.
